Due to its small footprint and low requirements for fire protection distance, the market demand for LPG buried tanks is increasing day by day. In our daily sales, we often receive questions from our customers regarding our LPG buried tanks. Here, we summarize some technical information related to buried tanks.

As the name suggests, a LPG buried tank is a LPG storage tank that is buried underground. The components of the storage tank are: saddle, tank part (including head and cylinder), manhole, liquid phase pipe port and gas phase pipe port, liquid discharge hole, liquid level gauge, thermometer and manhole cover, etc.
Cathode protection is required for buried tanks. The minerals in the lpg gas tank and soil will be corroded by acidic, alkaline and other substances during years of use, which will have a fatal impact on the storage tank over time. Therefore, for underground LPG tanks and related equipment, we mainly carry out cathode anti-corrosion protection. By applying current protection, the protected metal is connected to the negative electrode of the power supply, and a conductive inert material is selected to connect the positive electrode. After electrification, the surface of the metal will gather charges, thereby inhibiting the loss of electrons in the metal, thereby playing a protective role.
After installation, the Liquefied petroleum gas buried tank should be easy to inspect and maintain daily. The fire department and special equipment supervision department will regularly evaluate the storage tank according to the use of the storage tank, and enter the storage tank interior through manholes for inspection if necessary.
When installing a Liquefied petroleum gas buried tank, use fine sand to fill the upper surface of the buried tank, and the sand is required to be uniformly filled with a depth of about 400 mm. When building a liquefied petroleum gas station, in order to control the temperature of the outer wall of the storage tank to not exceed 50 degrees Celsius, a ceiling and sprinkler device should be installed in the Liquefied petroleum gas storage tanks area to prevent container overpressure due to excessive wall temperature. When making the ceiling, please ensure that the light distance is not less than 2m from the top of the lpg underground storage tank, so as to facilitate the installation or operation of the Liquefied petroleum gas underground storage tank.
