How to choose asphalt tank container?
The core pain points of asphalt ISO tanks: high temperature of the medium, fast solidification, high requirements for heat preservation and heat tracing, high viscosity of loading and unloading, the selection revolves around the working conditions of the medium → tank structure → heating system → pressure/volume → certification standard → transportation line, six dimensions, mostly used for roads, railways, and multimodal transport, suitable for road asphalt, modified asphalt, and emulsified asphalt (the selection of emulsified asphalt varies).
How to quickly select asphalt tank containers?
| Working conditions | Recommended configuration |
|---|---|
| Asphalt for ordinary roads, domestic highway transportation | 20ft, 22m³, Q345R, heat transfer oil jacket heating, bottom unloading, GB+CCS |
| SBS modified bitumen, multimodal long-distance transport | 20ft, 21m³, thickened tank body, fully enclosed jacket + thick insulation, CRCC+UN T11 |
| Export to the Middle East/South America, combined sea and road transport | 20ft ISO, UN T11, ADR, Thermal oil jacket, WCB jacketed valve |
| emulsified asphalt | No jacketed heating required, simplified insulation; ordinary carbon steel tank containers are sufficient. |
Reminder of common selection pits
1. Only look at the volume and ignore the thermal insulation thickness: the thermal insulation is poor, the temperature drops too fast during long-distance transportation, and the asphalt solidifies and cannot be unloaded.
2. Valve does not choose jacket heating: stop and wait for a period of time, the valve is directly blocked.
3. Heating modified asphalt with steam: local high temperature leads to asphalt aging, and the index is unqualified.
4. UN/ADR certification is omitted for export, and customs clearance cannot be made when arriving at the port.
5. If the volume is too large, the vehicle is overloaded, and the domestic road administration will punish it.
If you tell me the following information, I can directly give a complete set of technical parameter tables
1) Use area (domestic/which country to export);
2) Medium: ordinary asphalt or modified asphalt;
3) Transport: road/rail/sea multimodal transport;
4) Planned loading capacity for a single trip;
5) On-site heat source: heat transfer oil furnace or steam.
