What is an asphalt tank container? What types are there?
A special asphalt tank tank with ISO container standard frame and thermal insulation and heating system, which is used for multimodal transport of liquid asphalt (road asphalt, modified asphalt, etc.), common for road/railway/sea transportation, and can also be used as a temporary storage tank for construction sites; Asphalt needs to maintain a flow of 160-180 °C. The interlayer of the tank is filled with thermal insulation materials, and the built-in heating pipeline prevents cooling and solidification from unloading.
Most of the tank materials are carbon steel (internal anti-corrosion coating), and a few are stainless steel, which belongs to the T11 tank specification, with safety valves, manholes, bottom discharge ports, and temperature monitoring components.

1. According to ISO size
1. 20FT Asphalt Tank Tank (20 ft) The volume is about 22-27 m ³, and the load of asphalt is about 20-24 tons; It is suitable for inland river, short-distance land transportation, and small-batch supply of projects, and the turnover of port yards is flexible.
2. 40FT Asphalt Tank Tank (40 ft) The volume is 32 ~ 36 m ³, and the load of asphalt is about 28 ~ 33 tons; It is suitable for long-distance and large-scale export (Middle East, South America, Southeast Asia), and the single-trip transportation cost is lower.
2. Classified by heating system
1. Fire tube direct combustion heating (fuel burner, Bitutainer classic) A U-shaped fire tube is arranged in the tank body, and a diesel oil burner is arranged outside, and the flame circulates in the fire tube to indirectly heat the asphalt; Fast heating speed, independent operation when there is no external heat source on the construction site; It is the most mainstream style of overseas projects. ¡ ️ Improper control is prone to local overheating, causing asphalt coking and aging.
2. Cyclic heating of heat transfer oil (indirect heating) The coil pipe in the tank is connected to the high-temperature heat-conducting oil, and the heat source is provided by the external heat-conducting oil boiler; Uniform temperature control, asphalt is not easy to age, suitable for modified asphalt, high-grade road asphalt; The disadvantage is that the site needs to be equipped with a heat transfer oil furnace system, and the cost of the whole set of equipment is higher.
3. Electric heating Electric heat tracing/heating pipe in the tank, external industrial power supply; Clean, no exhaust gas, high automation, suitable for factories/ports with strict environmental control; The disadvantage is that the power consumption is huge, and the power shortage scenarios on field construction sites are limited.
4. Steam heating The coil pipe leads to industrial steam, which is generally only used inside refineries and asphalt plants with stable steam pipe networks, and is rarely used for cross-border transportation tanks.
